![]() The second kind is the Pro Game Reviewer. For those of you familiar with the Angry Video Game Nerd and Angry Joe Vargas well, you know what I mean. Video criticisms are mostly hilarious depending on the way and style the game reviewer presents the review. Yes, the good points can be mentioned as well but the focus most of the time is on the bad. This person will play and study a game and hit all the bad points that he or she can find. There are two kinds of game reviewers and even three if you consider the marketing write-ups and presentations as reviews. In contrast to the Let's Play crowd, reviewers actually analyze and present their own opinions and ideas about the game. What more, there are tons of people uploading video game reviews one after another on YouTube. Not only can you read game reviews on the W3 but watch the video reviews as well. If you have internet and access to YouTube, game magazines would really be a thing of the past. If you were an avid gamer, you would probably have a stack of these magazines and really spend time reading through the reviews and admiring the awesome screenshots of the game. Game mags like Electronic Gaming Monthly, Game Pro, PC Gamer, and the like were the holy grail of game ads and info for us gamers. Back in the days before the advent of the internet and the popularity of YouTube, gamers usually found out about the latest and best available games via gaming magazines and periodicals. ![]() The job of letting the public know about the viability of a game falls into the hands of the video game journalist. Making a game is difficult, time-consuming, and costly as well but once the developer is done with it, gamers and potential customers will need to know about the game and if it is worth their time and/or money. One of the most important jobs in the video game industry is that of the game reviewer. It has become the defacto source of information in making an educated decision whether to spend time and/or money on a video game. YouTube has become the go-to site for gamers worldwide. ![]()
